Saban Brown is a non violent registered sex offender and former radio personality (yanta Love) who admits he had consensual sex with a 15 year old girl in 1998 who admittedly lied about her age.
Atlanta, Ga (Billboard Publicity Wire) July 17, 2006 — Saban Brown, registered at 211 Ormond Street, Atlanta Ga. July 14th, has launched a national campaign to clear his name.
Saban Brown is a non violent registered sex offender and major radio personality who admits he had consensual sex with a 15 year old girl in 1998; who admittedly lied about her age. Brown then 24 years of age met the young lady while working a live radio station broadcast in a Mobile, Al club.
Brown, and the young lady agreed to go to a nearby hotel where they had consensual sex. This led to an ongoing relationship, until it was revealed to Brown that the young lady was an under age run away.
Shocked by this Brown immediately cooperated with authorities; 60 days later Brown was indicted and arrested while on the air at (WJWZ) Alabama and was facing 20 years for rape 2nd which is statutory rape in the state of Alabama.
Detectives stated to Brown during questing that “ignorance of the law is no excuse according to Alabama state law as long as sexual contact played a part in the relationship with a minor regardless of the circumstances.”
After 90 days in jail, Brown was approached by a public defender during a court hearing with a plea bargain agreement that had already been worked out with the district attorney; allowing Mr. Brown to go free time served with 2 years probation, the minimum sentence, or face a trial and receiving 20 years, the maximum sentence under Alabama Law.
Brown took the plea bargain because he did not want to take the risk of being sentence to 20 years based upon the Alabama State Law.
After Browns release, he later was told by an Alabama probation officer that he had to register as a sex offender.
Brown found it difficult to find a place to live, as well he was told by probation that he would be arrested if he did not find residents in 7 days; luckily he found a place in a halfway house, whereby fliers were distributed 1000 feet in each direction with his photo and information upon them.
Still strong Brown managed to complete his probation and was authorized to move to Mississippi with his father who was diagnose with prostate cancer. unable to find a job, Brown resulted in obtaining welfare and registered under Mississippi laws.
Although Brown experienced frustration and family problems he refused to give up. He wanted a better life so he relocated to Miami, FL. under the guidelines of Florida laws and registered.
Brown, obtained a job as a professional financial consultant. 6 months had passed and Brown decided to visit his father in Mississippi. While at his fathers home in Mississippi, Brown received a call and was asked to come to the pass Christian police dept, where he was unlawfully arrested for failure to register as a sex offender. Authorities later found out that Brown was in fact registered, and an order for his release was made.
The mix up was caused by a data entry error between the state of Mississippi and Florida; Brown had to deal with the public scrutiny of a shattered life all over again. This store made nation headlines; moreover, Browns wanted profile had to be pulled from Mississippi”s top 10 most wanted.
Brown lost his job, residence and was asked by Florida authorities to: “please leave Florida.” Brown stated to the national media that he had suffered a public lynching; which caught the attention of Rev. Al Sharpton and BETs Jackie Reed.
Brown went into seclusion and moved to Atlanta, Ga. to try to piece his life back together again, registered and later found a job as a sales training manager. Brown managed to save enough money to try to continue where he was cut off from his dream to be a top producer/entertainer.
Saban Brown, aka (yanta Love) now know as “MIAMI BLACC” has been performing in clubs all around Atlanta and creating a major street buzz, and catching the attention of major hip hop labels, producers and artist etc.
“MIAMI BLACC” continues to fight for human rights and agreed to take a political stance in support of individuals trapped in the the same situation as he.
“MIAMI BLACC” does not support an individual who knowingly commits a violent crime against women or children.
“A violent predator does not even need to see daylight nor given the right to freedom.”

Singer Bill Henderson's New CD, "Beautiful Memory," Due January 20 from His Own Ahuh Productions

Bill Henderson spent many years cultivating two parallel yet complementary careers as a singer and an actor in film and television. In recent years hes returned to singing, his first love, with renewed commitment. “Beautiful Memory,” his new CD and first independently released recording, marks his 50th anniversary as a recording artist.
Richmond, CA (Billboard Publicity Wire) December 11, 2008 — Veteran jazz singer Bill Henderson is caught in classic swinging form, his vocal powers undiminished, on the forthcoming CD “Beautiful Memory: Live at the Vic.” Recorded at the Santa Monica club in March 2007, three days after Hendersons 81st birthday, the CD will be released January 20 by his own Ahuh Productions.
Bill Hendersons new live CD, “Beautiful Memory.”
Beautiful Memory: Live at the Vic. Bill Henderson with the Oscar Peterson Trio Never Make Your Move Too Soon as well as films like directors think of you as being like a grandfather, and they always want you to be angry. When the roles started getting funny, I said Id better go back to singing again. Thats the thing that I really started out to do. The Art of the Song. one of the few totally qualified male jazz singers still extant “Beautiful Memory” is in many ways a retrospective of Hendersons repertoire. With his working trio, pianist Tateng Katindig, bassist Chris Conner, and drummer Roy McCurdy, Henderson performs songs such as “A Sleepin Bee” (one of the standouts from his 1959 debut LP for Vee-Jay) and “You Are My Sunshine” (from the 1963 Verve album “Bill Henderson with the Oscar Peterson Trio”). Also included on the new CD are “Never Make Your Move Too Soon,” the B.B. King hit; a rare vocal reading of “Royal Garden Blues”; and the seldom-performed Ellington number “Tulip or Turnip.”
The CD marks Hendersons 50th anniversary as a recording artist. He made his debut on a 45 version of “Senor Blues” with Horace Silver not long after arriving in New York from his native Chicago. (It remains one of the Blue Note labels top-selling singles.) Between 1958 and 1961, Henderson recorded for Vee-Jay, with arrangements by Jimmy Jones and Thad Jones, and then for Verve, which released the 1963 album with Oscar Peterson, the biggest seller of the singers career. Henderson joined Count Basie in 1965 at the recommendation of Eddie “Lockjaw” Davis and spent two years with the band.
In 1967 Henderson relocated to Hollywood at the suggestion of his friend Bill Cosby and for the past 40 years has pursued a successful acting career in film and television. His credits include series such as “Happy Days,” “Sanford and Son,” “The Jeffersons,” “Good Times, “Hill Street Blues,” and “NYPD Blue” as well as films like “Trouble Man”, “Silver Streak,” “Fletch,” “City Slickers,” “White Men Cant Jump,” “Lethal Weapon 4,” and “The Alibi.”
He never stopped singing, though his recordings and club appearances became less frequent. In recent years, however, Henderson was less than pleased with some of the roles he was being offered. “When you get older,” he says, “directors think of you as being like a grandfather, and they always want you to be angry. When the roles started getting funny, I said Id better go back to singing again. Thats the thing that I really started out to do.”
Between 1979 and 2006, Henderson recorded albums for Discovery (two of which received Grammy nominations), Classic, Naim, and Web Only Jazz. In 1999, he split vocal duties with Shirley Horn on Charlie Hadens Verve CD “The Art of the Song.” Hes appeared at the Kennedy Center in Washington, and in New York at the Algonquins Oak Room and at Jazz at Lincoln Centers Rose Hall.
Influenced early on by his peers, the late Joe Williams and Dick Haymes, Bill Henderson quickly emerged as an original voice and distinctive musical personality. In an early 1990s review of a Los Angeles club performance, the late critic Leonard Feather characterized Henderson as “one of the few totally qualified male jazz singers still extant”–and that remains an apt description today.
Henderson plans a CD release event for Feb. 1 (matinee) at the Jazz Bakery in Los Angeles, and will also appear at the Newport Beach Marriott on Feb. 14. His 83rd birthday bash takes place at Catalinas, Los Angeles, March 17. The singer appears monthly at Charlie Os in Van Nuys.
Come May 17, the Palo Alto Jazz Alliance presents Henderson and Mike Melvoin playing the music of Mercer & Mancini. In early August, Henderson returns to the Litchfield (Connecticut) Jazz Festival.
Newly Elected 'Politician of Music', aka, Prez-E-dent, Set to Release His Debut Track 'We Smokin' From the New Album, 'New World Industry'

The newly elected “Politician of Music”, a.k.a., “Prez-E-dent” set to release his debut track “We Smokin” from the new album “New WOrld Industry” on Whitehouse Entertainment Group.
Washington, D.C. (Billboard Publicity Wire) June 11, 2007 — The game is about to change. But this time, for real. The politician of music, Whitehouse Entertainment artis, Prez-E-dent, is dropping the new debut single “We Smokin” from the debut project New World Industry. This artists music steers clear of the typical, sugarcoated hip-hop lyrics served up by many of his contemporaries. He has gained a reputation for delivering a harder-edged political and revolutionary style. Prez-E-dent says, “I want people to listen, not just to the melody, but to the message. Im a politician of music, and with music there are no limitations to my speaking the truth.” Under the moniker 20×20, Prez-E-dent toured with Onyz, Bones, Thugs and Harmony and Fat Joe among others, but now hes making his own way, making his own rules
Influenced by music from Tupac and Bob Marley, Prez-E-dent says, “There was something about those artists that just blew my mind.” He adds, “A ghetto passport isnt the only component a rapper needs to become successful — and as far as gaining street cred because youre not out of Brooklyn, Im not telling you Im gonna shoot you or kill you but I am gonna let you know how Im going to destroy you lyrically. Music is mans universal system of communication, especially in the minority communities. My message is to show people there is help. Words can hurt or heal. I give myself and my words as a sacrifice.”
Prez-E-dent, aka 20×20, was born Samuel Joffre Payne in Chicago, IL. He was relocated to Washington, D.C. soon thereafter. The eldest of five siblings, the aspiring artist began rapping and rhyming at age 13. Recalls the new Prez-E-dent, “I was a loner and from the age of 13 so I basically raised myself. Running the streets hard, it was only a matter of time before it caught up with him. With a firm chokehold on him, even though he was bubbling on the streets as one of the illest M.C.s around, it wasnt enough to keep him out of jail. Fortunately, his talents had not gone unnoticed. He landed a recording contract with Relativity who delivered his papers to him while he was still on the inside. His single, “Gotta Be Like That,” was a commercial smash and the label moved up production on his album. Under the moniker 20×20 toured with Onyz, Bones, Thugs and Harmony and Fat Joe among others. Bad management dogging his project however and Prez-E-dent became increasingly frustrated with the politics that burdened the industry. He decided to hit the streets one last time in order to pay back his $100k advance, and became one of the first rappers to own the rights to his own masters. “I owe them nothing,” he says. Prez-E-dent is a rapper who possesses limitless charisma and powerful lyrical skills. His performances are as animated as they are riveting and he commands a verbal arsenal aimed straight at hip hops jugular.

Iconic punk-era independent label Stiff Records will open their vaults to begin re-releasing many of their unconventional classics, some never before available on CD in the U.S. Starting April 3rd in the U.S. (March 12th in the U.K.) releases include: Wreckless Eric — Big Smash; Rachel Sweet — Fool Around; Dirty Looks — The Complete Stiff Years; Any Trouble — Where Are All The Nice Girls?; Tracey Ullman — You Broke My Heart in Seventeen Places.
London, UK (Billboard Publicity Wire) March 12, 2007 — Starting April 3rd in the U.S. (March 12th in the U.K) storied punk-era independent label, Stiff Records will open their vaults to begin re-releasing many of their unconventional classics. The first group of releases includes albums from Wreckless Eric, Rachel Sweet, Dirty Looks, Any Trouble and Tracey Ullman. Some of the titles have never before been available on CD in the U.S.
Renowned for their flamboyant marketing ploys, their singles and picture sleeves and for reviving the package tour concept, Stiff Records was an indie landmark in the landscape of the late 70s/early 80s music scene. Living up to their slogan, “The Worlds Most Flexible Record Label,” Stiffs roster of artists was the most diverse imaginable. Besides giving Nick Lowe, Elvis Costello, Ian Dury and Madness their starts, they were also the label responsible releasing a blank album entitled “The Wit and Wisdom of Ronald Regan.” Founders Dave Robinson and Jake Riviera, took chances, took risks and music fiends (on both sides of the Pond) benefited from their daring.
The Worlds Most Flexible Record Label The Wit and Wisdom of Ronald Regan. If It Aint Stiff …. Stiff, but not dead. The labels ongoing importance and influence was reflected in a recent two-part BBC documentary, “If It Aint Stiff ….” Coming on the heels of the documentary and their first new signings in a decade, Stiff will begin re-releasing a selective spate of titles, many of which have never been available on CD in the U.S. The first batch of U.S. releases will start April 3rd.
Release Descriptions:
Wreckless Eric — Big Smash
Eric Goulden was one of Stiffs earliest long-term signings. A quirky, intelligent songwriter with a quirky voice to match. Big Smash is a double CD compilation of his first two albums plus rare b-sides and bonus tracks. It also includes his cult classic single “Whole Wide World,” which was featured in the Will Farrell film “Stranger Than Fiction.” All tracks have been digitally remastered and Eric has provided a fairly off the wall commentary in his new sleeve notes.
Rachel Sweet — Fool Around
Plucked from the thriving music scene in Akron, Ohio (home of Devo and The Waitresses), 16-year-old R&B belter, Rachel Sweet, was already an old hand at performing. Stiff put her in the studio with producer/writer Liam Sternberg and a group of session musicians, including members of Graham Parkers Rumour. The result was Fool Around, a pumping album of good-time new wave/country/R&B/pop. Head and shoulders above todays Britney/Jessica/Lindsay teen-idols, Rachel had the vocal chops to pull off Top of the Pops charters like “Who Does Lisa Like,” “B.A.B.Y.” and “Cuckoo Clock.” Sweet released one more album for Stiff, “Protect the Innocent”, before signing to CBS in the U.S. She retired from the music scene in the mid-80s and now works as a senior executive for Warner Television.
Dirty Looks — The Complete Stiff Years
Staten Island, New York based power-pop trio Dirty Looks (Patrick Barnes, Peter Parker and Marco Sin) signed to Stiff in 1979 after only 10 gigs. They have the unique record of claiming Stiffs biggest ever selling album in the US. The band immediately joined the third and last Stiff package tour, alongside the likes of Any Trouble, Tenpole Tudor, The Equators and Joe King Carrasco. Their self-titled debut album released in 1980 included two great singles in Let Go and Lie To Me. It sold over 100,000 copies in the U.S. The second album, Turn It Up, followed a year later, but only after being recorded twice, by Motors main-man Nick Garvey and Roger Bechirian. Label politics meant that the album never secured a US release thus making this is not only the first CD release but also the first North American release for this rare album. The band broke up in 1984. Bassist Marco Sin passed away in 1995.
Any Trouble — Where Are All The Nice Girls?
Bandleader Clive Gregsons appearance, hardened love songs and vocal style may have led to comparisons to Elvis Costello, but Any Trouble were no second-rate rip-off. Each of their four albums revealed a songwriter of unique talent. Any Troubles Where Are All the Nice Girls is a hidden new wave gem. Long awaited, this remastered re-release of their debut album includes new sleeve notes from the band and the original version of their debut single b-side. Clive Gregson later went on to produce a number of highly rated solo albums and collaborations with Christine Collister before relocating to Nashville. He is a member of Nanci Griffiths Blue Moon Orchestra.
Tracey Ullman — You Broke My Heart In Seventeen Places
Ullman was already an established comedienne and actress in the UK when label head Dave Robinson heard some of her musical parodies and signed her to Stiff in 1983. Robinson matched her up with master producer Peter Collins and selected an albums worth of judiciously chosen covers, including 1960s pop classics Breakaway, Bobbys Girl and Move Over Darling. In an inspired move Stiff also added Ullmans vocals to the original backing track of Kirsty MacColls They Dont Know — finally giving the song the success it so clearly deserved. Over the next twelve months Tracey became one of the best selling Stiff singles acts ever, before relocating to the US where she established herself via an HBO series and various films. This re-release has been newly remastered, includes four bonus tracks and new sleeve notes.

Introducing African / European Recording Artist, Francis Jocky

Multitalented musician Francis Jocky is something of an enigma. Born in Cameroon, raised in France and living in the U.S., Jocky has developed a sound that transcends ethnicity and genre.
(Billboard Publicity Wire) December 27, 2007 — Francis Jockys music is a mellow blend of pop songwriting, international sounds and flavors, and soulful instrumentation. From Africa to France to then American stage, Francis Jocky is an artist with universal appeal.
Francis Jocky was born in Douala-Cameroon. From an early age he learned to express himself through music and by the age of 12 had begun playing piano and writing his own songs.
Francis, you are a star! I play music because I have something to say There are so many things that make you want to scream every day. You need to express them. At the age of 15 Francis re-located to France and began to pursue his interest in music within the local music scene in a serious manner.
Francis has an wonderful duality as an artist which probably has its roots in his combined educational and musical training. He is the recipient of a doctorate from the prestigious Sorbonne in France combined with being a critically acclaimed musician and artist, who has made a name for himself in the European music scene.
Francis has played in several different bands along the way, but it was his collaboration with his brother Bobby in their band, CLASS that got the industry to take notice. The band was signed to a French label and was heavily promoted. Immediately following that experience, Francis began forming his own label.
As Francis reputation as an artist grew, he was approached by the legendary, Jon Anderson, lead singer of Yes. After hearing some of Francis work, Anderson proposed that the two form a band. In 1998, Francis and Anderson formed Know and were signed by Eagle Rock Entertainment.nFourteen songs composed by Francis became part of “Knows” critically acclaimed album “The More You Know.”
Francis later performed a “A Tribute to Sting,” and also played his own music in clubs throughout France. His influences are easily traced to artists such as Jackson Browne, Randy Newman and Motown greats such as Stevie Wonder. He has been heavily compared to both Seal and Al Jarreau and also counts among his influences, jazz masters such as Miles Davis and Thelonius Monk.
While his recorded music is remarkable, live performances are his strength. During a performance with Jocky, Bono remarked, “Francis, you are a star!”
After working with artists such as Jon Anderson and performing with Stevie Wonder and Bono, Francis embarked on the writing of his debut solo, CD, Mr. Pain. Written and produced entirely by Jocky, the CD has songs that talk about love, the state of the world and the human condition.
“I play music because I have something to say,” Francis says. “There are so many things that make you want to scream every day. You need to express them.”
Jockys Mr. Pain takes you on that journey from frustration to satisfaction in every lyric. The collection of music is balanced with mood enhancing grooves, layered vocal bliss and a funky, international vibe. Mr. Pain is available at www.francisjocky.com, iTunes or cdbaby.com.

A short bio of Murder the Stout:
Murder the Stout formed at the end of 2004 after lead singer Gerard Bride wanted to get back to serious performing.
He and Neil DuFour on guitar, had already developed a decent setlist when Hugh Morrison with his squeeze box joined ranks.
After the original drummer and bass player re-located the search was on for the perfect rhythm section and along came Berkley Sisson & Jonathan Chamrad whose years of performing together across the state in country bands found them the perfect fit. Hugh had played with Jonathan in a previous band as had Berkley and Gerard in Houstons first celtic band On the Dole, a band that Gerard formed back in 1998.
All five hit it off straight away and have been grabbing bookings at pubs, clubs & festivals ever since. A perfect combination, with Hugh & Gerards genuine Scottish & Irish traditions, along with an all Texan rhythm section sets this group apart.
Their first tour was in April 2006 as Murder the Stout took their energetic stage show from Texas to Louisiana and Mississippi to promote the release of their debut album.
Just back from California after some very successful shows, Murder the Stout have been approached about providing music for the upcoming movie — Shankill Road. Filming is due to start in January 2007.
The future is certainly bright for these Murderers of Stout.
Drink up, sing up and well see you soon.

Local firm comprised of Mississippi natives saves and renovates Aubert Motors building, constructed in 1915, as rebuilding of Gulfports downtown business district takes major step forward As Mississippi natives and local residents, we have witnessed first-hand the tragic destruction caused by Katrina, but have also seen the amazing human spirit and resilience of the people in our community The fact is that a lot of businesses have moved out of the downtown Gulfport area and not returned, but were here to make a very clear statement: Gulfport is back open for business and were going to rebuild better than ever.
Gulfport, Miss. (Lexis Nexis) March 29, 2009 — Vaughn, Bowden & Wooten, a Gulfport-based law firm that handles a wide range of litigation, has relocated its office to the historic Aubert Motors building in downtown Gulfport.
The firm saved and renovated the building, located at 1617 25th Avenue in Gulfport, which was originally built in 1915. It is a key development in the rebuilding of Gulfports downtown business district since the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
“As Mississippi natives and local residents, we have witnessed first-hand the tragic destruction caused by Katrina, but have also seen the amazing human spirit and resilience of the people in our community,” said Tom Vaughn, one of the founding partners of the firm. “The fact is that a lot of businesses have moved out of the downtown Gulfport area and not returned, but were here to make a very clear statement: Gulfport is back open for business and were going to rebuild better than ever.”
According to Vaughn, he and his colleagues, Ben Bowden and Eric Wooten, partnered with Lowry Development to restore one of downtown Gulfports architectural treasures. The firm originally acquired the 10,000 square-foot building in 2006 and worked to have it placed on the National Historic Register.
The firm now occupies roughly half of the building and Lowry Development is developing the other half of the property into a unique mixed-use building with both office and residential space.
